Today’s fishing seemed to finally bring those Stripers out of hiding   Despite the atrocious winds and tides the past several days, there were quite a few number of fish weighed in at Scotts Bait & Tackle for the MICA tournament.   Capt.  Tim O’Mara, John Hunt and Jason Lee won first place with total weight of 43.6 lb. and they also won the Calcutta.

Way to go Tim and crew. Fishing in that weather you guys earned it.
This too shall pass.

still trying to figure out how to post so if I alreday sent this ignore.  But:  Went out twice this weekend.  Friday bottom of tide, rolling seas, no fish boated or seen boated (not too may boats out)  Sunday out at top of tide, boated one bass 37" 17 Lbs and seen a couple others boated. The Fleet was out at all of the usually places and given the size of the fleet, number of fish seemed pretty small.

Late weekend report. Got out Saturday for the out going tide in the inlet. We had 15 stripers in 3.5 hours with our limit of 5 keepers. My father in law broke a nice one off with a tight drag that blew up some 30lb power pro. Hit the same tide on Sunday and only got one 27 inch short. Go figure. I will at it again tomorrow. i think I have a fever. >:D

Went 6 for 7 today with a 2 man limit + B.T.s. All were caught on clams in the inlet.

I guess I'll have to break down and switch back to clams tomorrow.  All the stripers I saw caught today were on clams.

But I love lures,  this year is very strange.

Lets get some reports for this year. I have heard of some 25 inchers off the last bridge on Great Bay Blvd. A couple of keepers at the power plant, but not much more. Most of these were taken on bloodworms, they haven't started to hit clams yet.

More, and better shorts being picked off Graveling Point and Ohio Avenue mainly on blood worms.

Pretty soon.  I'm waiting to start hitting them on the tidal changes at the BI.  Water temp is climbing nicely as the winter water temp never got to low.
