Sandy Hook Bay 9/14
« on: September 14, 2011, 07:39:17 PM »
Was out there today. Landed one keeper fluke and 5 shorts. A 2 lb cocktail bluefish on a killie (thats a first for me). Also a mixed bag of robins, crabs, kingfish, and one mystery fish looked like a mini barracuda. :headscra: I'll load pic of it if I can.

Was a great hot day to be out there, but clearly not the action of a month ago when I had 25 shorts.

A few party boats actually sat down in the bay as well. I guess the outside wasn't too busy.

It has been slow. Sounds like you had a decent day of action from other reports that have been going up.

The mystery fish looks like a lizard fish to me. Lotsa guys reporting catching them after Irene pasted by.

What part of the bay where you fishing not asking for an exact just a general ie earl, orchard etc.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

I was at the point bayside, near marker #1. I'm new to the area so I'm not sure of the names for most areas. Hope the info helps.
