fishon42's fluke trip
« on: August 09, 2007, 05:49:20 PM »
today we had fishon42 "mark" along with his stepdad and brother. great guys and a great trip!!

we headed out at 7:30am and headed to the LE reef. conditions were perfect but as the day went on the waves got bigger and bigger!!

everybody was on the fluke but keeper to hookup ratio was very low....so many shorts!

also mark's brother rick caught his first fluke today and many more after that TT^

(capt. joe) where were the cherries when I needed them ;D )

good day guys! mark will be back online in a few days,,,he is still on LBI doing the  vacation thing.

Good job Bob and Mike!  You have to keep them cherries on your post trip check-off list when you have people fishing for something the first time.  They do come in handy.  TT^

My last trip out we had a bunch of short fish also, don't know where they all came from all of a sudden.

It does provide great pleasure putting people on the fish.  I'd rather do that than catch them myself any day.   t^

ahhh will have to remember to put them on the list!! ;D

capt. mike was pretty pleased! there were alot of boats out there and all were in 1 big fleet. mike found a place away from them and kept us on fish all day. as the day went on more and more boats started to join us.

ohh lots of bunker today!! at one point a pod was busting the surface 5' away and up popped a few thresher sharks!!! they were jumping and slapping bunker. there might have been a total of 4 of them but not positive.

Bob and Mike, Thanks alot for the great trip. Had a great time, and definitly am going out again with you guys. Hopefully sometime this month again. Afterwards for the next 5-6 hours, I felt like I was still on the boat. I couldnt eat/stand/etc. I layed down for hours. Wierd. Guess because that was my first time in a "smallER" boat going out into the ocean. Still felt fine ON the boat though. Awesome trip, fish was great, ate that night !  t^ t^

Hi Mark,

I am glad that you had a great time, we enjoyed you and your families company. You guys are always welcome any time. You are natural born fisherman, we like your techniques. So you had a little land sickness, LoL... the ocean was a little rough.
By the way next shark trip you are the official hook setter...

Thanks Again
Capt. Mike
