The Baitwaster's Season Upgrades
« on: April 01, 2012, 07:45:53 AM »
Well it's that time of year again! Considering fuel prices this year I decided to make a few more changes this season. Last season I unloaded the old 5.7 and replaced it with the Mercruiser V6 Mag. That saved alot of $$ alone, but the boat was sluggish to plane off. 29 mph. top speed. This season I moved the old batteries up front under the floor and went with two Delco sealed smaller batteries, losing about 45 lbs. shifted the fuel tank 7 inches forward, got rid of the sink and stove losing another 75 lbs. (I never catch anything worth cooking or cleaning anyway) I'm installing aluminum exhaust manifolds and risers losing another estimated 50+ lbs. or so and am considering going with an aluminum intake manifold. Gotta find out about the life expectancy though. Cant wait to take her out !!!

In light of all the weight I lost on my boat this season, I wanted to ask if anybody else has a boat and fishes the ocean because I was just wondering if me and a few friends could charter along for the day? I'll get the fuel and bait, but not the food!

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
