Gene (aka Capt Bagels) wrote  Grin

Headed out early with Art and Billy to try for some Bass and hopefully a couple blackfish before the season ended.

Crazy life from the start with nonstop blues on the jigs. Kept heading south and finally found the right fish mixed w/ the blues.

Caught about 2 dozen quality bass up to 22lbs. Only kept 2 that were perfect 29"ers.

Now off to bottom fishing.Anchored up and put a few nice ling in the box when Billy looks like he's into a nice tog but he lands our first keeper cod.

Added some more ling but no love from the blackfish.

Started getting bored and saw some life building inshore from us so we pulled up for some more jig action. Moslty blues but we saw some nice marks tight to the bottom. Landed another 6 nice bass and then Billy gets doubled over and pulls up a nice 10lb cod to add to the cooler!

Tried 1 more drop and added a couple more ling and a nice knucklehead(released of course) and then headed back north through 3 more areas of birds working..

Great day and some good eats for all on board.

After breaking one camera with his ugly mug we figured a way to take pictures without damaging any more equipment  Grin

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
