05-31-2012 KIDS ON BIG BASS

Out with Kirk, Tommy and my sons for an afternoon shot at the bass. Managed to make bait in 45 feet of water with two throws and headed off to find the fish. Got a call from a buddy and headed off to find big bass crashing baits on top. We caught about a dozen and missed quite a few more. Most of the fish were big - 30 to 40 pounders with some low 20s mixed in. 9 year old Sean caught his personal best a 40 pounder weighed on ceritfied boga and released to swim another day. Kept a couple of smaller fish for the grill and released the rest. Beautiful afternoon on the water.On the water photos courtesy of Captain Mike Formichella of Shark Inlet Charters.
