Reel Class Fluke-Seabass 8/27
« on: August 27, 2007, 09:15:57 PM »
Had Ryan Marcus and his son Nicky, Chris Sadlo, and Tom Krieble aboard today for a fluke/seabass trip.

Ran offshore to the reef again and hit a few pieces.  Fresh, dry NNE wind made it a bit sporty early, but the seas quickly calmed as the wind died out.  Decent drift, slow, steady bite, and an overall improvement in the fishing was the way things went today.

A good amount of seabass and fluke, as well as some jumbo birds and skates got to the boat.  Lots of short seabass and fluke again, but we were able to pick through to get some meat in the box.  Wound up finishing up the day on a lump a few miles N of the Reef to put a few more fish in the boat.

Again, an overall improvement in the fishing, but today by no means was a stellar day.  We wound up with I think 10 fish in the box, and the big fish of the day was taken by Nicky who boated a nice fat 3# fluke on his own custom rod.  Nice job Nick!  t^

Its good to see the fish starting to respond again following the heave and the storm, hopefully tomorrow will be even more of an improvement!
