RB 8/15...
« on: August 15, 2012, 05:02:58 PM »
Brought the boys down to the hospital again.  Got the last few hours of the outgoing. S-L-O-W  pick and once the tide stopped it was non existent.

Managed 8 males 5-6"  probably 30 throwbacks ranging from the size of a dime to just under 5"

Steamed the 8 for an appetizer just now.  All were healthy looking, clean crab, yet 3 of the 8 were completely hollow!  Claw meat and nothing else.

Nice low fly over by some vintage WWII planes around 1PM was damn cool!

Makes sense.

Just strange how all were close in size yet 5 were packed and 3 were empty.

On a side note, getting a little tough explaining to my son and his buddy that we dont keep "women" and our personal size limit is 5".... as always, just trying to teach them a little conservation.  A little tough when buckets are filled with shorts and females.

BTW, snappers were pretty thick around 6".  All bait, they wouldnt touch the poppers or small spoons...LOADS of spearing around.
