Aftermath of Sandy at SRYC
« on: October 30, 2012, 11:47:04 AM »
Just got back from my marina. A disaster. The marina club house/office/ships store all look fine from the outside. Don't know if they shipped in any water inside, but more than likely they did.

The boats that were pulled and put on blocks floated off the blocks and are in the road and on the lawn of the condos across the street from the marina. Sad scene to look at.

The Irish Ayes was left in the water and rode thru the storm unscathed.

The entire bulkhead area was lined with boats that were pulled for the storm. They all floated off the blocks and drifted across the lot.

Boat drifted onto travel lift area.

Irish Ayes in slip.

Irish Ayes, notice the rainbow above the building shining down on the Irish Ayes.

Glad to see the Irish Eyes survived but man feel bad for the rest.  I haven't gotten a report from Bob's yet on how the Renegade made it through riding it out in the water
I FISH therefore I am.

Yeah, not a pretty site to see. Very sad to look at. Hopefully they did not sustain much damage and can be refloated with minimal repair.

Wow! Glad to hear that your boat made out okay Joe. My heart goes out to the other boat owners who were not so lucky.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Can not get down to marina's private section, blocked off. Head boats all looked ok from the best I could see from the road. Rt 35 is shut down. Sorry I can't be more helpful to you.

Good for you Joe...  It's a Parker t^

Very sad to see all those boats like that.

My marina held up well  flooding but no damage..

Reeltime and the Phyllis Ann are safe and sound in their slips.

I hope everyone has the same out come.

I am across the river and could not make up my mind to bring her home or leave her in the yard.  You sure make me feel good about my decision to bring her home.  Sorry for all the other boaters.

You made the right decision Dave, I understand the boats in your yard are piled up on each other.  :P

If I had a trailer for mine, I would have brought it home.

It was not a good site to see. Hopefully, they did not suffer much damage and can be readily repaired and refloated.
