Hello all!
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:08:24 PM »
This is my first post here, just stopping in to introduce myself. My name is Jared I am from Erie Pennsylvania. I am an avid walleye and king salmon fisherman, on lake Erie and lake Ontario. The reason for my lurking on your site is I am considering purchasing a large center console boat, and I am shopping for a place for it to call home. I currently own a sport craft hard top set up for great lakes trolling. I lived in Florida for a while and got hooked on deep ocean fishing. I am considering NJ because of the under 8 hour drive for me and from what I have seen so far, good variety of fish species. If anyone here has any advice, comments, or concerns I'm all ears.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

grtn Welcome to the site! Well, here's my two cents, I love it here! I have fished Jersey waters in one way or another my whole life and have found there are quite a bit of different fish to catch and great to eat! Some of the species population has diminished yes, but for the most part, as you said, there is alot to go for! You don't have to far to trailer if you wanted to check out Delaware or NY either. There are plenty of lakes to try out too! This site and the people on it are great and I am sure will help you with just about anything you need and will give you sound, solid, honest advice as well. We wish you the best of luck! Tight Lines!!  slt Ms. Fish    msfsh

lol 8 hrs drive to fish... classic

welcome, quite a few of us here like morons.

I have always wanted to take our scow, Ya Sista's A$$, up the Hudson, through the Erie Canal, and out into the GL. My motor would probably promptly seize up when it hit it's first fresh water ever, but it would be an interesting trip.

Maybe someday.
