porgies at sandy hook
« on: September 19, 2007, 10:06:40 PM »
Gave a couple of spots in Raritan Bay a try for Porgies.  Used clams for bait and chum.  We ended up with about 50 porgies 12-13", two went to 14" and a few throw backs.  Tiny little sea robins were a nuisance most of the day.  The fish bit the best on the incoming tide.

By any chance was one of the spots the Rommer lighthouse. I wonder if that spot is still hot with porgies..

No it is right off the tip of Sandy Hook but you need to fish the tides.
