Tnt Toggin
« on: September 20, 2007, 08:49:23 PM »
Well couldnt believe I had a HARD time trying to find someone to Tog fish with today.... searched high and low and no one could get off or didn't return my calls... was set to go it alone when Deputy Vic and Weedwacker JIM, AKA the river rat, got back to me at the last minute so after buying every green crab I could find on the East Coast off we went....
Fished just outside the Hook on some GOOD structure and the morning bite was INSANE.....Deputy Vic took the LAB inspired Dollar Bill yo as soon as his rig hit bottom with a nice fish about 4lbs....

Fish chewed dare azzez off on the last of the out and the first hour or 2 into the incoming.... Bite dropped off so we basically jumped around the rest of the day with fair results.... Tried to stop on some working birds on the reef but to no avail....

Hit 3 wrecks in the bay on the way in for some more non stop catch and release toy tog games.....

Boxed our 3 allowed, plus 4 or 5 Sea Bass and a single porgy, releasing at least another 3-4 doz togs, I think had the biggest going around 7#..... Gonna be a killer tog season guys........

Nice catch.  I can't wait till the limit goes up to eight.  I usually head south and jump on Capt Robbins out of Sea Isle City.  Old, old boat, but the captain certainly knows how to put you on the tog.  Very little fishing pressure on the tog down there.   t^

surprising enough the best action was in the bay in 5 ft of water :o. the rest of the fish where caught in 50 ft of water down the beach. hope this info is enough for anyone to try out with out giving out the spots.
