Young Gull 9/26
« on: September 26, 2007, 08:55:19 PM »
I took my Dad out for a few hours this afternoon.......We caught the incoming tide and were fishing the Reach. The bluefish were on the attack and the old man wanted to beat up on a few.....Lot's of fun catching these 2-3lb fish, plus the fact Ma wanted a few for bluefish sauce.
Ava's 17 reeled in as fast as you could wind seemed to be the ticket today........We also deep dropped a few times but no takers below the munching blues.
We managed to catch two weakies back to back.......Bolth weakfish took worms on pink floating jig heads, fished with a 2' leader and one oz weight.......Also note we were fishing this set up appx. 10' off the bottom.
All in all a good day with Dad...He has not fished much this season so it was great having him on board.
         Good fishing to all

Nice day on the water.  Time with dad, catching fish, doesn't get much better than that!  t^

I don't think there is such a place......Let me double check my chart. ::)

Funny, i thought it was strange the other day when someone mentioned it.

I thought everyone knew 21 was the rockpile over there :)

Young Gull,

On the weakies.... you reeling up 10 ft off the the bottom.  What depth water were you fishing in?

Thanks.

Young Gull,

Excellent and thanks for the feedback.  May take you up on the offer next time I'm out. The wind and home projects have me landbound this weekend hoping to get out next.
