Shark Tournament fishing 6/22
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:39:17 AM »
Headed out with our crew of Dave D and company and myself with high hopes yesterday of hanging a big boy at the scales. Capt Dave and mate Kevin on the Jenny Lee had us well set up with bait and location. Arrived at the grounds and set up and soon after had a Mako pup in the slick which was caught and released. The wind just absolutely died out quickly leaving us with very little drift and a bath tub for an ocean with calm, flat seas(any other day it would be pushing 15-20 right???). Capt Dave did his best to provide us with a power drift while we chummed away to make a nice slick. Saw plenty of action including a baby grey whale that circled next to the boat for a whale, turtle and numerous blue sharks. We stayed at it all AM and afternoon hooking up on I believe the final count was 8 blue sharks, another Mako pup and a keeper Mako that was hot and bit the line off off to swim away free for another day. Great effort by all, just couldn't find a big boy. Thanks again Capt Dave and mate Kevin for putting it all out to find us life and action all day! Heard a nice size Mako was weighed in for the lead.....

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
