I don't know of any surf guides. If you are interested in shark fishing check out the sponsors here. Some, if not most of them do offer shark trips.

I am sure some of the die hard surf guys could give you advice on surf shark fishing. It will be heating up soon.

Like Fred mentioned above.  I have not heard of any guides that target sharks.  There are guides for the surf but sharking is a hit or miss proposition.

All I can say it is done at night and with heavy equipment.  Like on average 10/0 hooks and large baits.  Heavy line and I like to use 10+ foot heavy rods with baitcaster reels.  But many just use spinning gear.

Look for troughs and cuts in the bars and try your luck there.  Plus I would go with at least 1 other person as sharking is not a sport for the faint of heart off the beach.  A 3 to 4 foot brown can be found this time of year off the beaches but like I said it is a hit or miss sport.

If you do catch one that size it could take as much as an hour to an hour and a half to get it to the beach.

Be careful if you go.

Happy Catching

Give "Shore Catch Guide Service" a call.   You will have to look up the number.    They have a good reputation and are fishing advocates.

Do any of the beaches allow "soda" and campfires?

Yep, IBSP...  Area 10 has changed drastically.  but fishable.  I am looking for other areas out there but right now the waters have changed a lot and till we have some good nor'easter come through and open some good cuts it is hard fishing out there.
