A lot to say.. but a great day.. will post a report in the morning..  Redemption!!
3-4 with a couple 60" fish
Kenny's 52"

This was the small fish, The first one took a Ronz And I fought it for a while and just couldn't get him up the last 5 feet.. Was using a gosa 10,000 on a JPR Rod. The fish had to be 60" he made a quick turn to the back of the boat and I lost him on the trim tab. I got upset and thru the rod to the deck.. it bounced and went in the drink Needless to say it sucked. But Kenny landed this 52" then we got another shot at a big fish and got him boat side with a clean release..

Our first opportunity came on a dead sticked RONZ.  I'm telling you, I think those baits are the closest thing to a magic tuna bait as you can get.  Rod grabbed it and did a great job fighting it right up to the end.

The moment when we lost that first fish (and the rod) I thought our Rod was going to lose it!  When that rod & reel bounced off the deck and over the side, Kenny and I just looked at each other like, "Did that just happen?!"
 
It was pretty disappointing, but Rod gathered himself and we resolved to redeem ourselves.  It took a little while, but we finally hooked up again on a jig.  Kenny said, "Put me in coach!"   So, I passed it off to him and he played it expertly until I sank the gaff in it's side.  Tuna in the boat!

It was not long after that when Paulie hooked up on another RONZ (this time as he was working it).  It was his first tuna in a long time.  Nice job Paulie!

Our last fish, again, came on a jig.  By that time we were tired and loopy, so we played pass the rod until it was finally brought boat side by Kenny.  It was another big one (about the size of the one we lost earlier).  Of course, since we already had one in the box, this one lived to see another day.

Another great day of tuna fishing on the Phyllis Ann!  Great fishing, great crew and a great time!

What a fun trip…we had it all….

Big fish drama at the side of the boat…had to be a 60” fish Rod had on, a real beast that just kept the back and forth battle going and wouldn’t give an inch till the line parted on the planner board…sooo close to decking that beauty…

If you threw that rod at the deck a thousand times it would not have gone over the side…one in a million chance on that..  I can understand the frustration on loosing that fish…

Rod was on suicide watch there for a bit but we talked him down and he was back on task in no time… even  more determined to get on the fish..now it was personal !!

Bob’s jigging skills continue to amaze…He hooked the fish we kept but put me in to pinch hit for the landing....fish put on a great fight and was a blast to get  in the boat…Thanks again for the hand off Bob !!!

Then..

Paule’s behind me working the Ronzi when he yells “ I’m on “….I though he was just playing and look over to see his rod doubled over !!  Battled it like a champ and got it in for the clean release..

And then the last fish of the day, we all got in some rod time on that fish…as Bob said…was as big as the one that got away…great way to finish off the day.

Just a great day all around, tons of jokes and BB…Just the small little scenes in the video with Paule and Rod getting  beer and twinkies while fighting  their fish is just a small sample of the good times we had yesterday…Great Crew ..great trip!!

Just a memorable day on the water to say the least…
