sandy hook rips sat
« on: October 08, 2007, 08:06:54 AM »
WEent out to the rips on Sat late afternoon for the outgoing. Drifted with eels at my favorite spot. Its marked on my gps as my favorite spot. ;D  Lots of traffic but we stuck it out for a bunch of drifts when it finally paid off, 32" bass. Like an idiot i hold the fish up under the spreader lights andin 5 minutes evrybody and their grandmothers move to my area.....keep drifting and grabbed one more just legal..then I go to my WP and some guy anchors right there on my favorite spot.  WTF,,so after some more drifts I cant deal with the traffic and go over to the outside close to the  channel where all those boats were earlier and started killing them.  A bass every drift all about 31-32" got my four and keep going for catch and release. 8 bass  in all. went back and cleaned up and rested then we decided to go back out for the morning out going but ran into some promblems that i am to ashamed to talk about, so the trip is over.  will try the new moon this week. should be good times.  will post pics later when i get home

very nice catch... the good part of fishing eels is that it keeps most of the junk fish away...

Nice catch.   Always a moron or two out there to screw up the fishing pattern for everyone else.
