Last night me and two of my friends got down to Deal township right before midnight. We have a couple jetties we were successful last year. We were throwing Avas, poppers and imitation sand eels. Not one of us got a hit. my buddies called it quits around 330 am. I drove north to sandy hook wanting to fish the rip at sunrise. After a quick nap in the parking lot and a long walk to the point i finally hooked up right at crack of dawn. I Caught three bluefish on a crippled herring! Bite slowed down till about 9 than I caught a keeper sized fluke on a diamond jig a couple guys around we're picking alot of fluke with bluefish mixed in. I had a clam out on my bait rod i had something hit it but wasnt there when i set the hook!No bass but still a long and successful night
