Fish Monger 12/10/13 BigAl makes the Double Digit Club

Yesterday's adventure on the Monger with Kenny included Wreckfish, Jakemeister, and Big Al.
Mate Danny told us to check our drags before our first drop as he said we were starting out in "Monster Togville"

On this first drop in the morning BigAl boated his PB Tog that weighed in at 13Lbs on the nose back at the dock.

We rarely needed to measure any of the fish today and we picked away in the snow and boated some real quality fish.

Capt. Jerry's Report and some pics.

"Blackfish to 13 lbs! - Quality was the word of the day... We braved the snow n went to some of the deeper big fish spots BC after yesterday's blow was a little worried about fishing shallow n tight. Didn't have great #s but size was good. Another teen sized( 3rd so far) blackfish and personal best Al's fish scaled out at 13 lbs( must b our lucky # ) . We also had another at 11 1/4 lbs. Couple of 8 and most of the fish we in the 5-6 lb class. Couple short of their limit...managed 33 keepers. Back at it tomorrow w a bucket of rock salt."

Forgot to mention that we had a visit from Armed NOAA Agents one of whom came back for second look at the tote as he didn't know what a Tautog looked like. 5hrug

Nice trip guys, congrats Big Al on your PB.
You guys are diehard black fisherman. My PB might be that 1 short from last weeks trip.
Shorts and a tee shirt are more my speed. Lol

Great day yesterday !!  

Big Al decks the Big Tog!!....Ata a boy Al..Nice new avatar   t^

Jake ( Wreckfish's Son) popped his Monger cherry yesterday and got in on our worsening Bisque habit/addiction...I think there's a 12 step program for that.. ;D

Left no doubt he's the latest addition to Monger Nation..not a nicer young man to fish with... t^ And he can tog too !!  You taught him well Phil..

Phil put in some nice work and boxed up some nice roasters...I think over half the rods on the boat yesterday were made by Phil...

Paule.....picked up right where he left off from Saturday...went right to work and made huge dent in the 33 total fish we boxed...

Me... 5hrug probably caught 7-8 with 4-5 going in the box...did manage a 9 pounder.. ;D

I can't remember a recent trip that had so many BIG fish...Great day  t^

1 More trip on the green boat on Dec 23rd...





And the Chef Boyardee was not kind to me this morning Paule..... rofla rofla rofla
