A typical Spring week with milder to warmer temperatures, some possible rain and some windier days on the water. The week will start off dry with more sun the clouds on Monday, followed by likely showers on Tuesday and lingering into Wednesday Morning before clearing out. It will stay dry through Thursday before rain chances return for Friday. Sunday into Monday may see some frost and evening freezing temperatures overnight. High temperatures will be in the 50’s to 70’s with 60’s and 70’s inland and immediate coastal areas about 10-15 degrees cooler influenced by the cold ocean waters. Overnight lows will be mainly in the 40’s with some 50’s along the coast and some upper 30’s across the north. Overall, temperatures look seasonable and average with 70’s possible on Tuesday with the rain moving through. Tuesday Night and Wednesday will see an increase in winds, with gusty northwest winds. Water conditions will be mixed all week. Conditions should return or improve for Monday and Tuesday with winds picking up Tuesday Night and through Wednesday prompting Cautious Conditions and Small Craft Advisories. Conditions will improve for Thursday, depending how bad lingering conditions are and then could deteriorate for Friday Evening into the Night. Southern waters and Offshore waters may see some worsening conditions on Tuesday late and sticking around through the weekend. Offshore waters more than Southern Waters, but if you are going out south of BI, I would be aware of possible gusty winds and elevated seas! Surf and beach conditions look good all week, except for Wednesday where OK to Cautious conditions will kick in due to gusty northwest winds. Southern beaches will see some rougher, higher surf on Monday and even Tuesday as well with Cautious Conditions. Water temperatures are steady and slowly warming, in the mid 40’s and low 50’s. UV Index will be mostly high at 6-7/15.

High pressure centered east of New England on Sunday will move farther out to sea and it will lose its influence over the region gradually on Monday into Monday Night. A cold front is forecast to approach from the west and it is expected to pass through the region on Tuesday Evening. High pressure will follow for Wednesday into Thursday. Low pressure will then move from the Great Lakes on Friday, across New England on Saturday and over the Canadian Maritime Provinces and the adjacent waters on Sunday.

The weekend looks dry at this point, but the disturbance from Friday could carry over or stall into Saturday. High temperatures will continue in the 60’s with lows in the 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look Cautious on Saturday which may carry over into Sunday? So Sunday could go either way right now.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!

Re: Red Flag Warnings/Elevated & Critical Fire Weather
« Reply #1 on: April 24, 2014, 01:12:25 PM »
Red Flag Warnings for the entire state with Elevated and Critical Fire Weather forecast for today. Due to low relative humidity and gusty NW winds (sustained 20-25 knots with gusts to 35 knots) forest fires will grow quickly and dangerously.

There is already a "Major" Forest Fire in Beachwood east of the GSP!
