Hallie Loren | Raritan Bay Saturday 5/17 & Sunday 5/18
« on: May 18, 2014, 11:40:46 PM »
Fished both days this weekend with Eddie (Hunter 2) on his new boat the "Hallie Loren".  I'm sure I've mentioned in a previous post what a beauty of a ride his 36' Topaz is, but it bears repeating.  It's clean, fast and offers plenty of room to fish.   clp

Saturday the crew consisted of Chris (Cashin), Trish (Ms. Fish), Mark (Treebeard), Kenny (Kenny) , Paulie ( pawle ) and myself.

Sunday's crew had Capt Joe (Irish Ayes), Bob G, Johnny Oz, Dennis, John and myself again.

The weather was just terrific both days.  Our intended target was stripers, but the demons had other ideas.  We loaded up the livewell up with some bunker snagging in the morning on both days.  As soon as we did, Eddie took us to his best spots to try to feed them to the striped ones.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned, the bluefish were all too quick to get to our livies before the bass did, chomping many in half and biting off hooks, although some made it to the boat.  Oddly enough the stripers we caught, like the fat 22 pounder John caught, were the first fish caught on both trips before the bluefish wrecked havoc with our baits.

Still, to his credit, Eddie kept moving and trying many different spots to get away from the blues.  We tried trolling as well, but to no avail.

Everyone likes to catch 'em, but it really didn't matter this weekend, because it was a tremendously fun weekend with some great people and lot of laughs!  We'll get 'em next time.

Thanks for having me aboard Eddie! t^

What a fun time it was this weekend.   rofla   It great to have the extra room on the boat to fit more friends comfortably. I want to thank Trish msfsh the bunker snagging guru for all the food and snacks, hydration cells and the cleaning. The P.E.C breakfast sandwich is a hit. Kenny's Hat. ;D  Mark,Paule  ::), Capt.Joe for the gear.  Let's get out again soon.   The new lettering graphics have been picked out. When they arrive we have to perform the voodoo name changing ceremony. slt
 Good Luck,,  Eddie

 t^ Nice trip guys
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

We had a beautiful day on the water Saturday...

And a super fun crew ( an understatement )  t^

Eddie handles the new boat like a champ and as mentioned is a very sweet ride...Not a rattle in her...Topaz makes one hell of a boat, a real fishing machine ! I love the Bunker TV in the back  t^

Trish is now the official cook on Eddies new boat...she brought some great food... I'm still stuffed  ;D ;D  thanks again kido..also have to mention that Trish is a bunker catching machine !!!

Bob didn't disappoint with the one and only striper for the day...but we had some fun with the blues as well..I have to try that cool new bunker rig deal you had there... very inventive..

Paule put his own twist on the " fish finder rig" ;D ... Two weeks in a row we got out Paule...Gota love that !!!

Can't forget Chris, Worked had all day for us on anchor duty and fish cleaning etc....thanks bro t^ t^

Then..

We headed to the Blue Rock in the parking lot for a couple of post trip refreshments to round out the day....Perfect  chrz

Thanks again Eddie..can't wait to do it again !!!!!!!!
