St. Croix mojo bass for saltwater?
« on: October 13, 2014, 03:45:11 PM »
i've been lookin for a new rod to use for tog/bank fishing and was lookin at the st. croix mojo bass 7'9" heavy casting rod, just wondering if anybody has used these for saltwater, it seems perfect for what i want it for but i worry about using rods meant for freshwater in saltwater sometimes, just lookin for input before spending a bunch of money on a rod... thanks

What weight line you planning on using and what weight sinkers. By Tog/Bank are you talking fishing the sod banks?

t^ .. I have 3 of those rods on my boat for a few years now and never had a problem, used them for strippers, tog and fluke.  ..

65 lb braid and might use lead up to 6-8 oz I mostly fish for tog back bay out of a boat but do fish the sod banks and theres also the possability of hitting an inlet i would also use it for surf fishing and at graveling point casting up to 4 oz, it certainly feels heavy enough my main concerns are with the guides holding up and whether it could handle a big tog or striper
