Cool looking.

Does it work ?

Yes it works very well,I use it at the inlet all the time realed in Fluke this year.

It is a RU Mer made in France. It belonged to my wifes late Husbands Father. My wife thinks his father had it since 1932 which would make it 82 years old. I love it, I'm rebuilding the rod it was on now.

That's great wb Thanks. Where did you ever find that? I wonder if there is any place I can get parts for the RU. The pickup on the photo is a bit different then the one I have and looks like it would function better on picking up the line, with my reel the line has to be set on the bail after casting by hand.

Also that add being from 1954 makes my wife's estimate of the year it may have been purchased quite bit off, Probably a lot more accurate as a 50s circulation though 60yrs sounds a lot more practical then 80years as the condition is pretty good.

Yes built to last that is for sure, but it was well taken care of by it's previous owner. I have just had to do miner maintenance on it.
