This week will have a little bit of each of the four seasons and water conditions will range from good to cautious. Monday Night will be clear with lows in the 40’s. Tuesday will be a mix of sun and clouds with clouds increasing later. Tuesday’s highs will be Summer-like in the low to upper 70’s with overnight lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Wednesday will have increasing clouds with chances of showers and rain. Wednesday will see 60’s and 70’s with 40’s and 50’s overnight. Thursday and Friday will have sun returning and dry conditions with cooler temperatures. Highs will only be in the 50’s and 60’s with overnight lows in the 30’s to 50’s. Halloween will be seasonable, with increasing clouds into the night. Highs will be in the 50’s with overnight lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Trick or Treat early, to avoid any chances of showers moving in. I will keep a watch on this timing. Areas across the north of the state, could see snow showers/flurries Friday Night with a mix possible as you move south. A developing and intensifying Nor’Easter will form to the north and bring snow and coastal effects to New England. Water conditions will be a mix, with Tuesday through Wednesday borderline and cautious depending on locations and times. NOAA/NWS has gone with much higher winds and seas, than BW. Conditions will be borderline again on Thursday and Friday, with conditions deteriorating for Friday Night into the weekend. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok with gusty winds possible, rougher surf and wave heights peaking on Wednesday at 3-5 feet. Water temperatures are slowly cooling in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.

A high pressure system near Virginia will move offshore Monday Night. A warm front will pass through the area on Tuesday followed by the passage of a cold front on Wednesday. A high pressure system will return for Thursday and early Friday. A cold front will move through Friday Night as its low pressure  system will intensify rapidly as it moves through New England and coastal waters on Saturday . Canadian high pressure will move into the Ohio Valley on Sunday and the Eastern Seaboard on Monday.

The weekend looks dry, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see lingering showers on Saturday. Sunday will be dry and sunnier. Highs will only be in the 40’s and 50’s with lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious with a developing nor’easter to the north and windy conditions across much of the area.

The Atlantic Tropics have another Tropical Storm, Hanna, which will stay over the Yucatan for now. There is also another area nearing the Caribbean being watched.

Have a great rest of the week, thanks for reading!

Re: Halloween Forecast
« Reply #1 on: October 30, 2014, 07:48:25 PM »
A mix of sun and clouds for Halloween as a deepening low forms off the Carolina Coast. This Nor'Easter will stay well of the coast, but some effects will be felt (more to come with the Weekend Outlook). It will be mostly dry. I say mostly because isolated to scattered showers/drizzle are possible throughout the day. Rain will not move in until later at night, likely after midnight. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50's, dropping after sunset with lows in the 40's to 50's. So, seasonable temperatures, cooler after dark with some isolated to scattered chances of showers. Trick Or Treat will not be a washout, anywhere statewide, but an umbrella may be good to bring along.

Anyone looking to get out, water, surf and beach conditions will be good for the day deteriorating into the night and overnight with cautious conditions and small craft advisories into Saturday as a moderate Nor'Easter moves into New England!
