First time blackfishing
« on: November 26, 2014, 02:41:12 PM »
Went down to the Big Mohawk yesterday for my first time ever Blackfishing, been trying to go for a few weeks and with todays weather I opted to go Tuesday despite the swell... Boat was filled to the max(40 fares for blackfish) and the water was dirty to go with the swell. Not many bites and with the swell I chose a tough day to go blackfishing but I got the hand of it by the end of the day and finished with 2 keepers which I believe was tied for high hook... Lost a big one to the wreck/rocks. Despite the slow fishing I loved blackfishing & can't wait to get out again(Trying to go Monday, will be on the Monger next Wednseday the 3rd for sure t^)

Togging on the Monger is great.  Jerry is not only a great Captain but has the knack for catching them himself even when the bite is slow.  Watch his tequnique carefully

You will not find a better boat/captain to learn how to black fish than Jerry on the Monger.

Still room and time to get in on our trip for the 13th.  t^
