Made a couple of tog trips
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:20:57 PM »
Actually got out a few times to tog. Headed out on the Ocean Eagle a few weeks ago and got to see Billy and the OE crew. A good time, decent amount of action but just shorts for me. Overall a tough bite for everyone onboard.
Next was the "opening" day in NJ on the Sea Hawk. Another day of just shorts for me.  5hrug

Two Saturdays ago filled in a spot on the Marilyn Jean out of NY. We had to get fuel, tow a boat back in to safety and then finally set out to go fish. Stayed out late and had a good afternoon bite. Think we came close to limiting boat. I had my limit and buddy Ronnien was high hook with about 12!!! He had the big fish of the day at 8# or so. clp

Headed out on another buddy's charter on the 25th on the Last Lady. Another grind of a day and last spot produced some of the bigger fish of our day. Skated and dropped down between two others and instantly had the big fish of the day. Nothing too impressive. think I had 3 keepers including that one. Maybe 16 keepers for the group. fcp

A break in tradition on Blackfish Friday. No Mary M trip  :'(

Did head out on the Sea Hawk with a small crowd so was like a private charter. Lots of action and had my NJ limit of nice sized keepers. Think everyone left with plenty of fillets. chrz

A few trips out, nice fish, plenty of action and fillets makes a fisherman happy. Way to go.

Wasn't me.  haven't fished on the Mohawk in a couple years I think.

That Bingo trip on the 13th?  Gotta check with the boss later as some reason that date makes me think we had plans.

Yikes, time flew, sorry I missed it.

I did fianlly get to "cash in" on my trip I won at the banquet for the Fish Monger.  Was only a half-day trip but Capt Jerry was great enough to allow me to apply it to a tog trip.  Tried last year but kept getting blown out and even snowed out one time.  Well got out yesterday and had a GREAT time.  While personally I only caught a couple of keepers, our crew limited out the boat with a few having the hot hand at putting nice keepers up to 9#+ over the rail.

If you've fished on the Monger you know Jerry and crew work hard and give you 100% all the time.  If you haven't fished with them, book a trip, you won't be disappointed.  TT^ TT^

Will put some pics up later.
