Super easy and strong mono to braid knot
« on: February 01, 2015, 11:52:57 AM »
Last year used the Phillips knot/False bimini knot but found this one and like how it's end result appears to be sleeker for the rod guides. Quoted to be stronger so I'll be giving it some try outs.

I've been tying it this way.  And I've posted this up before.  But, your video seems a little easier.  I will give your method a try. t^

Yea Bob I have been trying to tie this knot the way it's shown in the video Mike posted. Using some old 25 lb mono I have around.... Seems to tight right but when I put it to the test in the vice the mono slides/ pulls out. pawle

I have found this knot works better with heavier leader. At least 30 and even better with 40 and up.  For lighter leader I still like the Red Phillips best.

Interesting. I might even be able to tie that one. Does anyone have any experience with thicker sizes say 80# braid and 100# mono?

I'll give it a shot and tie it up along with the Albright. Will see which one I can tie easier and better with wet slippery hands in five foot seas in 15 degree weather.

Yea I'm still practicing this knot, I tie a few good ones like Bucktail says seems to work better with heavier mono, putting faith in the knot is another issue....... pawle I think I'll be sticking to the Albright  t^

If you want a knot to reel through the guides, the levelwind or onto your spinning reel, this is the one to use.
