Day after the Storm Striper Report
« on: November 04, 2007, 02:28:31 PM »
After the blow on Friday / Saturday, fishing looked good with winds out of the west. We broke the inlet around 0700 and ran north to Asbury were we encountered some nice marks. After riding on the marks for 2 hours with out a single knockdown, we decided to continue north to the Rocks. Once we arrived there, we joined the rat race and dragged our lines to no avail. By 1100 we decided to call it an early day and shot back home. There was not a single bird working there or back. There water temp was in the high 50's and the water was murky.
All in all, we couldn't buy a fish nor could anyone who we talked to on the cell / radio.

It won't be long before the stripers really get going. Fishermen out on Long Island have been doing pretty well so we aren't to far behind.

We are still booking charters for stripers and bottomfish.

I saw you heading back south, around Asbury Park, when I was going north.  Believe me, you made the right move going in early.  Wasn't a thing out there in the afternoon either.  The big Goose Egg today.   thud

They were all over but getting one to bite was another story. I was out from Shark river to Sandy Hook rip and couldn' get a knock down. bngh
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!

From everything that I have heard it is a night bite with eels.  Very slow during the day.
