Reel McCoy Raritan Bay Report 4/19/2015
« on: April 20, 2015, 07:58:46 AM »
My son and I pulled out of Bahr's at 0645 and headed straight for the back of the bay.  Boat ran well despite the temp sensor glitch it had on Friday.  We set up in the midst of a growing fleet off Keyport and commenced a cracking.  Managed only 2 shorts and a skate on the last of the incoming.  Made a move inshore and landed two more shorts.  Fish were 24-26".  Our lines kept getting fouled with brown weed which required constant checking.  It is always a great day when you can get out and catch a few  t^

Hi Dan,
Have a question you may not want to answer on the board your call or you may not want to tell me either,

Here is the question, I went out on saturday morning was in water up 26 feet and marked very little schools of bunbker, fished depth from 26 down to 7 feet no takers, through plastic lures and drowned clam.

i went out of Belford basiclly fished the flats all day.

if you dont mind tell me wher you were vrs me and what you used to cath them.
because me and about 12 other kayaers could not locate them.

Hi Dale,  I was inshore of the #1 bouy off Keyport in 10-15" of water.  I was chumming and fishing with clams.  Most of the fleet was fishing shallow water between Keyport and Cliffwood Beach.

Dan thank you so much for giving me an idea were the fish were on that day.

i appreciate you saying on the board, i would have been happy with just a IM.

To me this is what this board was about helping out your fellow fisherman & friends.
