Sat 5/9 report

Delayed start out of Sayreville with fog warning that was supposed to lift at 9.  Conditions remained nasty 90% of the day with only a short moment when we could see both Staten Island and Jersey.  As fast as it cleared the fog rolled in heavier. Stayed back bay most of day with bluefish hammering trolled hard plastics. Did get boarded by the NY game commission... as we were landing a blue, red and blue lights come out of the fog like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean....boy they have a nice new vessel...had to be 10 officers on board..looked threw every storage compartment looking for stripers....asked for fishing license and life jackets...they went from boat to boat be prepared.  Did get info from them that they only seen one striper so far caught on bunker spoon ;D hope to see stripes return shortly

Thanks for the report,  were they looking for the free fishing registry license?  And was the NJ LICENSE enough in NY waters?

Yes,and Yes....was surprised they did'nt ask for boaters safety course...seemed more concerned about illegal fish..even made me pop seat cushions to look in storage compartments. chrz
