8/25 Monger fluking
« on: August 25, 2015, 07:07:18 PM »
Had another all star crew today on famed Fish Monger... NJSW members such as myself, Mbailey, Dibbs, Treebeard, Wreckfish, and njbob were onboard with a few more good fishermen. We had a good bite when the wind wasn't blowing and grinded out a catch to 26 keepers to 6/6.5 lbs. I managed 7 keepers and my dad Paul hilariously managed his 3rd pool in 2 weeks with the first keeper, in 35 years of fishing before this he never won a pool before.......  :headscra: As usual Jerry and John were great.

It was another "TYPICAL" Monger trip.  Jerry and John worked their asses off to provide quality fishing for us. Had hard S wind early and late which hurt the fishing as the fluke were very lethargic in hitting the bucktails or teaser. We should have recorded the conversations today for a a Comedy Central TV show.  rofla We had midget jokes, fat jokes, short jokes, racial jokes, sexual jokes and a whole lot of other stuff that kept us laughing all day.

One of the highlights and LOWlights of the trip at the same time were the two deep blue, hump head sea bass of around 5 pounds that I had to throw back because some MORON politicians decided to close the season. FT Jerry got a new set of big sea bass numbers for nothing. LOL

That is my now "2-piece" St Croix spinning rod in the deck shot.  John was trying to bounce by rig out of a snag and the St. Croix just exploded and became a 2 piece rod.  As I was aghast seeing my rod now in 2 pieces John replied "At least I got your Spro bucktail back."  TT^ hhppy

As Phil said, "THE STICK would never have broken like that."  clp chrz TT^

Thanks again everyone for another GREAT day on the Monger.

Tight Lines,
Bob G  chrz clp
