Returned to the water
« on: September 12, 2015, 09:12:00 AM »
I can not remember the last time I was out fishing. Work and other life responsibilities have kept me from enjoying anytime for myself the past few years. I would get a day here and there to surf fish but never was able to plan. Yesterday 9/11/2015 I was able to head out of Cape May on a friends boat with my wife and some friends. Not only did it feel great to finally be back out fishing, the look on my wife's face and the excitement she had when she handed me the rod and said " I can't reel this in" was priceless. She was jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas morning with anticipation of what was on the other end. OF course the lightest gear we had that day had to hook up to this.

Thanks for the report. It is Murphy's Law that the biggest fish always hits the lightest gear.   TT^ rgmn Many years ago when I did a lot of offshore Tuna fishing we would have some 50W's out and also an occasional 30W. Time after time the biggest fish always hit the 30W and you had to bust your a** to get the Tuna in the boat.
