11/16 One for Kristy's Record Book

Hit Manasquan Inlet at 0700 this AM with the wife, Kristy and friend Capt. Walt from Patriot Cruise Lines out of Penns Landing (Good times if you're in the market next year). Turned right and began the ride down the beach. Not seeing much we started a troll short of the intended destination and soon had a 38" in the boat on a white TM spoon. We played around a bit more until we heard a distress call from the Bounty Hunter with a medical emergency onboard. We weren't far from him and offered assistance but, just couldn't connect and the USCG was able to get him off with a fast boat and intercept with EMS in Manasquan.

Further down south we decided not to join the fleet and found our own action. We managed to snag and liveline for pretty steady action most of the midday/early afternoon. On one of the final drifts Kristy's line gets hit hard and after a fight all her own she boated a 48" striper which had to be at least 45#. Striper weight/girth calculator says up to 54# We already had all of our 'under' fish and really didn't need anymore meat so we took her onboard gently, took pictures and set her free.

In addition to the cow highlights included a huge blitz all to ourselves with bunker and striper causing 1# washing machine action and some great whale watching right outside of our inlet on the way in.

It was a great day on the Kristy Marie!
