Here Comes the Cold
« on: February 10, 2016, 06:34:31 PM »
Thursday will start a 4-5 day run of below freezing temperatures. Highs will not make it above freezing and overnight lows will be in the negatives to teens. Wind chills will make temperatures feel like well below zero. This is extreme and dangerous cold levels. People and animals will not be able to withstand being outdoors for extended periods of time without proper clothing. Extended below freezing times could cause freezing pipes and any other unwinterized items.

Saturday and Sunday will be the coldest with highs in the single digits to teens and Saturday Night the lowest, lows will be well in the negative single digits.

Stay warm!!

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Here is a briefing from NWS PHI. This is just discussing the current cold and then potential snow for Monday-Tuesday. Greatest accumulations look to be north and west of the I95 Corridor, maybe even farther north and west. Areas south and east will see snow, but less accumulation. NWS is having technical difficulties with graphics, so the only available now are in the briefing. Updates to follow...

I am just waiting for the 4PM forecast updates before I post any snow and icing events. Tomorrow will be a snow and icing event, effecting Western and Northern NJ, but other areas will not get away free from any wintry precip. Working on the outlook too...stay tuned!
