Opening Day Flukes
« on: May 23, 2016, 04:30:13 PM »
Keeping with tradition, I pulled my tin boat "Clamenza" down for the NJ opener.. Had flattie assassins Rossie and Dibbs (  t^ ) aboard, and slid off the trailer into one of our favorite tidal rivers by 0515.. Had our first shorty in the gray dawn, and as the sun came up we had a good steady bite through the last of the incoming.. Experienced a slowdown at the turn, then started picking again... Lost count of shorties released after about 20.. but guessing 30+ with 7 nice keepers for the box.. I took the pool with a fattie that pulled the Boga down to the 7# mark..my biggest by far from the rivers.. Cut the day short a little after noon to beat the rain, and headed back to Rossie's for hydradtion and a fantastic fish fry.. Little jigs/gulp tipped with spearing caught'em... TT^  chrz chrz
