I love tying flies!!  I've been tying for about a year and a half now and I'm addicted. Here's a pic of my tying desk and a couple of my favorite salt water patterns.

Vito, great looking flies.. t^

I have to agree, I'm impressed.

Hi All,

Just sitting here and tying up a few rigs for the up coming season and thought about a small video clip I saw the other day where they were tying uni knots using a pair of hemostats.

Being that is one knot I use often so ZI tried it and let me tell you these arthritic hands wound up tying 3 sets of fish finder rigs in less than 10 min.

What a difference.

Put the line through whatever you will be tying weather it is a swivel or hook to form a loop with about 3" of tag line.  Put the hemostats into the loop and do at least 3 twists and grab the end of the line and clamp down the hemostats and pull the end through the loop.  moisten the knot with saliva and pull tight.  Its finished.

What a relief for these gettin' old bones.

Happy Catching

Paul

I actually bought a knot tying tool at the fly fishing show in Somerset last month.  I never thought that I would by a gizmo like that but I'm all thumbs when my hands are cold!

I had a number of hemostats lying around, I use them for fly tying so it was just picking up a pair and trying it.  It is so simple why didn't I think of this or see this before.

OK, I know its been a while but I have been messing around with some new stuff and have been tying P-Nut bunker teasers.  They might not look to pretty but when they are wet they look great.

Hook sizes are 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0.

I will be experimenting over the winter and by the time rolls around I should have the pattern down pretty good.

Lets see your winter projects.

Happy Catching

Looks real nice...dead on for p-nuts!  What color do you think will get the most hits.  I am going with one of the bottom two ;D!

I would think the middle two but I have learned that color and water make for strange combos that work in many different ways.  I am looking forward to trying the top one in low light conditions.
