11/17 Striper - Last Trip of the Season?
« on: November 17, 2016, 08:35:20 AM »
Got a late start hitting the inlet around 2:00 with my buddy Jake. Headed north and marked some bait and fish but, moved off away from the fleet and found some better marks on the line. Trolled around for a bit and managed 1 38" striper for the table.

I think this may be the last trip for the season as I have some weak batteries and really don't feel like doing any repairs this late in the season. I think it's time to repack wheel bearings on the trailer and bring the old girl home. Still to be determined though....

Fred, fishing the "Kristy Marie" from Manasquan River Club. Channels 16/67/68.

t^ ... I am still holding out hoping to get another week or two but it's up to the marina. I was suppose to come out on Oct 31 but the weather has been nice so they have let the fishermen stay.. Only time will tell. .... chrz

Same here im in a trailered 18ft aluminum bassboat i usually fish till they move on but im getting old for mid December fishing i think i got a couple weeks left in me if fish cooperate. I remember back in the early 90s fishin back then in same bassboat i use today was a mid december trip was so cold all we could do was head over to highlands bridge was like 26 degrees that night. But i will never forget that trip we had outgoing tide drifting eels from Barhs landing rest. down for a quater mile or so you could not keep em off your line all fish were 15lbs and up to 30lbs for 5 hours straight till our arms were done it was a trip i'll never forget but it was COLD out.

It's tough between huniting and fishing. Hunting is just starting but the stripers are biting good still. So it's still Fishing since there is a lot of time left to hunt.
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
