Towing insurance
« on: March 26, 2017, 01:30:25 PM »
I just purchased new boat insurance and it came with Sign & Glide towing.

Looks like it will do the same as Boat US or Sea tow. In fact I called them and they also use Boat US or Sea tow.

You can also just buy the Sign and Glide by itself.

Here is the info on it.

Boat US just went over to Geico.

The only thing I see with this policy is that they will tow to the NEAREST repair facility. That may not be a facility you care to deal with. Something to consider when choosing a company.

I think some of the plans with BoatUS does the same thing.

I have Progressive. It doesn't work that way in NJ. I called them the other day. According to the agent I spoke to you call seatow or boatus and Progressive reimburses you. Why it works that way in NJ I have know idea.

Call back Frank

I just checked again and I was told it was that way in NJ but now if you call for a tow they pay the tow company. The rep I spoke with told me this changed in October 2016.

Called twice today and both told me the same thing again!  I call I pay etc. Finally on the third call they sent me over to Compass they handle the boat end. They finally got it right. You call them they call the tow and they pay. I told them Progressive isn't explaining it right and they are probably loosing business because of it. slt

They sent me a sign and glide card and that's the number I called.  888-955-0025 and all I need is my policy number but they can work with my phone number.
Glad you got to the bottom of it.  t^
