It will be interesting to see if they are going to change the herring regs this year. I believe Delaware already did something with their regs.  Tongue

Herring have been identified in a couple reports as being a species of "concern!"  It will be interesting to see what they do...

Epic Striper Bite
posted 19 hours ago by Karl Hoelper   [ updated 18 hours ago ]
Only one way to describe this bite, One herring one bite.

It was a cold rainy April 12 day but the day before was in the 80's and the water creep up 3 degrees to 49 and the herring started to bite a little better. We put 14 in the tank and started drifting the slower water. every drift and I mean every drift we pick up a fish or got slammed by a bass.

We had over 25 bites which we converted in to 14 catches non under 33 inches and one a fat pig of a 40 incher (Picture below). The herring we not as readily available as you would like them to be but if you get you hands on one then it's game on! The Herring bite shut off after a super dead low tide.

4 of the 14 fish we caught today Absolutely great day of fishing and it will be tough to beat!

Joe, it is 99% sure that herring and shad will be shut down for 2012

Thanks Bob. Never say it, or heard of it.

Make sense, it must be a very old sign.

Not much of anything we can touch is made in the US anymore.

Sorry Paul, Thanks for clearing that up Bob. The sign is very old. It is more of a land mark these days Paul. 3 bridges that cross the Delaware from Trenton to Morrisville #1- The Rt 1 Bridge AKA The Toll Bridge or Freeway Bridge, #2- The Trenton Makes AKA The Lower Bridge or Business Rt 1, #3 The Calhun Street Bridge, Aka Upper Bridge. The Upper Bridge sits above the Trenton Falls the Lower Bridge Below the Falls.  thumbsup2
