So I don't have much time blackfishing. I was wondering what everyone recommends for a rod and reel combo for blackfish?

What's your budget? I too am getting into blackfishing. I saw at the saltwater fishing expo, tsunami came out with a decently priced rod that I'm settling for. Tsunami TSSPJC-761XH

Danny or Takes prisoners, if you are looking for a rod to be built contact Wreckfish I have 4 rods he has made and will be having a 5th made next year. The rodgeeks xcomp blanks are great
