Where Legends Live On
« on: March 14, 2018, 07:20:11 PM »
slt  No where on earth is fishing more of a tradition than Florida. We can trace our heritage back to many bigger than life legends of the sea, legends, such as the man himself, Captain Wilson Hubbard.

Captain Hubbard, a true visionary, was instrumental in the building and development of John's Pass Village, the Boardwalk, as well as the entire Central Florida area. Young Wilson prospered by catching and selling fish from Pass-a-Grille pier, now known as Merry Pier.
When he was 17 young Wilson bought five rowboats and forty cane poles for $150.00, and the legend begins. Next, after the war, he bought his first charter boat. In 1954 he established the first gulf coast half-day fishing head boat. In 1956 Captain Wilson began a marathon 18 hour fishing trip for hard-core anglers. In 1971 this man of the sea established overnight weekend trips to the far offshore fishing Grounds.
Captain Wilson Hubbard insisted on having only the very best representing, working for, with him. Men like the man who became a legend in his own time, the best of the best, Captain Bobby Buswell began his distinguished career under the leadership of Captain Wilson Hubbard:

In 2004, the second generation of the Hubbard family took over ownership of the Marina with Mark Hubbard, Captain Wilson's son, as president and general manager:

Next in line, Captain Dylan Hubbard, Captain Mark Hubbard's son:

Captains' Wilson, Mark, and Dylan Hubbard are 'hands-on' Captains who love fishing as much as anyone could possibly love anything. Family will always come first, then fishing.
Another Hubbard who has become a legend in his own time is Captain Garett Hubbard.

True to tradition, the only thing more important than fishing to young Captain Garett is family:

Captains Frank, Anthony, and Joey are well on their way of becoming legends of the future. All began as deck hands and worked their way up to Captain. All are good, very good, at what they do best...put anglers on fish!

Captain Joey Drew, the latest to earn his 100 ton masters license, is well on the way of establishing himself as one of the elite.

If it swims, Captains Joey & Anthony can show you how to catch it:

Captain Drew's most recent trip was a close-in 1/2 day adventure that saw happy anglers with plenty of fish.

Inshore, offshore, or way offshore, Captain Joey Drew has done it all:

Rounding off the best-of-the-best modern day Captains is the very experienced, hands-on, Captain,
Captain Bryon Holland:

Thanks to real men, real captains, such as these and those to follow, our sport, our heritage, is in the best of hands.
Captain Wilson Hubbard, looking down from above, can be proud, very proud.
