5/28 Sandy Hook

Feet in the sand at 6. Worked my way up to the tip from the North Beach with a popper, metal lip swimmer, and SP minnows. Had only 1 hit which was a bluefish on the first cast of the metal lip swimmer but it never found the hook. Guys on the end were starting to get into blues then of course a party boat comes right up on them. Threw the bag at the tip, then worked my way back with a darter and the metal lip. One guy walking the same direction had a short striper on a yellow bucktail. Didn't see or hear much else. Once I got back to the path to the parking lot, they were closing off the area north I guess because of the birds. Hit the road and just got home around 11.
Might get a slip in Keyport for the boat. A good chunk of change less than the marina I wanted to get in. Then I'll get out a lot more

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
