Roosters Flukin 6-21-2018
« on: June 21, 2018, 06:43:39 PM »
Left our slip at Atlantic Highlands Harbor at 7 AM to prowl the waters of Sandy Hook Bay looking for our favorite flatfish. Spotty rain, a light breeze, cloudy and cool changing to no wind, hot and humid. One keeper Fluke @ 19” for Tom, none for me but large Sand Sharks,Clear nose Skates and many short Fluke.
We fished the white buoys off the Ammo Pier, near the Sandy Hook Channel, the #1 Can at the Point Of Hook, Shrewsbury Channel, and the Breakwater at the Harbor. Cold, clear water wherever we went. In at noon. Sea Robin strips were choice baits as most of our Killies died at the slip?? maybe low oxygen in harbor. Pete
