Hallie Loren 8-26 Fluke
« on: August 28, 2018, 05:31:08 AM »
8-26. We had a late start because we had to wait for the fuel dock to open at 8am.   We were low from yesterday’s offshore trip..  Mike Arp and friends of ours started landing nice fluke and Mikes Uncles rod bends over hard .   He battled the fish for a half an hour when the line finally snapped.   Fluke kept coming up when the south wind started blowing hard making it very hard to hold bottom. Dan had a nice fluke on when his St.Croix Mojo rod snapped in half..  I moved back into the bay and not much was going on.
13 keepers to 8lbs for us.

Thanks for the report Eddie.  The half hour fight sounds like a ray to me.

I broke my St. Croix rod on the Monger about 3 years ago while trying to retrieve a snagged Spro Jig.  As the rod was about 7 years old, St. Croix charged me $50 to replace it with a new one.  They also have a discounted shipping cost with FedEx of $20.  So for $70, I received a brand new replacement rod.  They do stand behind their equipment.
