21' Seaswirl Striper..."Freedom 3"

« on: April 25, 2019, 04:27:29 PM »

Started out at dead low tide out of Sayreville...was headed to my recent hot spot but noticed many boats back bay so decided to give it a shot.  Did see some bird life and some bunker here and there but not enough to keep me long so off we went,  many boats spread across mid-bay and then another huge fleet out by Old Orchard.  Started mid bay looking for the marks I have been seeing the last 3 weeks, not much happening.  Did manage lots of shorts and one keeper at 29 inches. After a couple hours decided to make a change and head to different location....pretty much by ourselves...It was lights out...numerous double hook ups and all types of sizes from shorts to fish up too 40 inches....crew was exhausted with the no stop action for at least 2-3 hours...mojos were not the ticket today for me and not a single bass landed on them....Thanks to the little birdie chirping in my ear for direction and depth....paid off big time Best part is buddy Witty manned up and got on the boat...hes usually more of a chummer than fisherman but he gave it a go and caught numerous fish without chumming!...Joe and son Nick still on break from school rounded out the crew and must say performed great with all the commotion on a small boat and large cooler!...Fish cleaned boat washed and off to Giants stadium for tonights draft! pics to follow

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
