NBC News story about overfishing
« on: February 15, 2008, 10:43:21 AM »
More to be concerned about... I saw a story on NBC news last night that talked about how overfished the oceans are.

The focus was on comercial fishing but they talked about the need for "protected zones" in a few areas of the world including the east coast of the US.

This could wind up effecting recreational fishing also.

IMO, in the future, we'll have to wind up fighting alongside the comercial fishing industry againsts the environmentalists and animal rights crowd.

That just shows the what extent the people who have no idea of what they are talking about will go to pass on POOR information to better their cause.

And the news reporters are not any better for airing such POOR information.  Perhaps if they did their homework, they would provide people with accurate information to base their beliefs on.

Even though there are more fluke than ever before, they are considered "overfished" legally.  Some dumb reporter sees that and does a story, thinking he has a scoop on overfished stocks.  Doesn't help that NBC News' president, Steve Capus, has admitted on the record that the network will take a leftward tilt politically because they feel that's what the people want to hear in the present.

NBC News is trash through and through, and I've never seen as much unabashedly biased, despicable news coverage anywhere as I have on that network.
