Shrinking Pictures Help
« on: April 02, 2008, 06:15:59 AM »
Is it possible to shrink the file size of pictures that I have taken with my digital camera.

I need to get the size nearly half of what it is.

Thanks

when you load it on line, crop it to a smaller size, or set your camera on a lower pixel rate.

Does this affect the quality?

I am photgraphing items for auction and I still need the best quality.

But the site that I am selling on only allows pics to be 50K or less.

Open in paint / image / stretch-skew / 50% / 50%  save as, so not to over right original.

Yes that does effect quality. Do you have Photoshop? Alot you can do with this program. Also I use a program called Stuffit. It shrinks my file sizes usually in half. Any person can open the file with Stuffit expander which is free online.

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager; it comes with Microsoft Office under Microsoft Office Tools. If you already own Microsoft Office 2003, this is a free tool you've likely already got on your computer. If you're thinking about upgrading to Office 2003, this is one more added reason to go ahead.

You just open the picture, choose edit picture then choose Compress and it gives you 3 options. Easy to use.
