Mantalokin Bridge update !!!
« on: April 04, 2008, 03:02:01 PM »
Hi All,

Well I had to get out and do something so I thought I would up date some of the reports I did last year on the free piers in Ocean County.   And yes I did have my stuff in the car but I never got it out.

I started to talk to a couple of guy at the bridge and found out they were not catching a thing so I asked what they were using for bait their choice today was squid strips,  5hrug.

So I went up onto the pier itself and found two more guys fish but this time they were using sand worms and chumming with corn.  At that point in time they did not catch anything.

The sky was heavily overcast and it felt like it would rain at anytime. After talking to these gentlemen whose names were Joe and John.  nothing seemed like it would be happening so Joe decided it was time to leave and as he was walking down the pier the sun came out and John's pole begins to bend, fish on.  He reeled in as nice 15' winter flounder.  good job John.

While all this going on The Angels Rose II is anchored up on the east side of the channel.  I am sure Capt. Ant will be giving a report on how well they were doing.

I did notice that the mate was quite busy, I guess someone has to keep that nice white boat clean She is a bute Capt.  grtn

Happy Catching

Paul

I was just looking at your article on this place last weekend. I was looking for a place do drown some worms from shore. Never wound up going. Maybe tomorrow if it clears up in the afternoon.

If you go just look for the Norma K II along the road and park across the street from her.  If the lot is full you can pull into that maring and pull around till you see the small lot that is full.  It is OK to park there as the signs tell you to do.   t^

Good Luck.

Happy Catching

PS Sand or blood worm seem to be working best.
