New Tackle: What’s Hot for 2008
Written by Bob Maehrlein

Well, it’s been a long winter, but spring is here. And to paraphrase a famous poet, “In the spring, an inshore angler’s fancy turns to thoughts of fishing tackle!” Way back in March, when it seemed that spring might never come, many of the top tackle manufacturers gathered at the Rockland County Community College in Suffern, NY to show off all their new stuff. New rods, reels, lures and another new jigging system were all on display. To top it all off was reaction to last year’s major corporate takeover. What follows are highlights of what’s new and hot in saltwater tackle for 2008.
