Raritan Bay Fluking 6/9
« on: June 10, 2008, 10:45:05 PM »
was out early yesterday with neighbor John, right from the get boat not running right.fished back bay, very slow pick,a lot of big sea robins and some blue fish mixed in,plus some shorts ,ended up with 2 keepers 1 just over 18 and the other almost 19.no pics, worried about boat.limped home at about one at all of 11 miles an hour.after getting home and flushing, found water in 1 cyl.called to order head gasket, but one in stock, pulled head last night, cleaned up everything, this morning used a tap and cleaned out head bolt holes, back together this afternoon.went to start to check, not getting fuel, had to replace fuel pump,ok sounds real good.hope to get out Friday and then do a trip with my son on Sunday for fathers day.

Glad everything worked out good on the repairs. Now, go out and catch some fish with your son.  t^

Salty, hope you don't get into any trouble, boats and fishing are suppose to be relaxation and not aggravation,I've been having more of the aggravation.my neighbor across the street helped me out a lot with the repairs,if he wasn't there wouldn't have known about the fuel pump,he seen gas leaking from it as I was priming.it was a rough go working in that hot sun yesterday,so I put up a 10x 10 popup canopy over the back of the boat and had a fan blowing on us.
